3 EFFECTIVE WAYS TO OVERCOME YOUR GREATEST FEAR

(Last Updated On: )

Do you feel stressed? Are you under pressure? Or have you always wanted to do something, but don’t you dare? What are you afraid of?

Under stress there is always a certain form of ‘fear’. And fear is an annoying thing. It can sometimes turn up, regularly hinder you, or completely ruin your life. Making sure that you are not effective. That you don’t dare to do the things that you would like to do. Out of fear perhaps rejection, criticism and condemnation, or failure. In this blog 3 effective ways  to overcome fear.

1. GO LOVE

Fear often has everything to do with the people around you. They can approve or reject you, confirm or criticize, love or reject you. Your fear arises from your profound desire for love and recognition . And you want this from the people around you. Only people can never completely satisfy that desire.

Only God can do that and He wants that too. As soon as you learn to descend this reality into your heart, you will notice that you become less dependent on the people around you. That does not mean that you still need others to love you and encourage you to be the person you really are and do the things you want.

But how do you receive the love of others? Yes correct; by loving yourself, being amiable, you attract people who also love you. It starts with you. Not always easy, but as soon as you start living from the question ‘how can I deal with the people around me in a loving way?’, You will automatically get this back. Super bibles by the way. He also says the following about this:

“Love leaves no room for fear.”

Give it a try; you will find that it works!

2. CONSIDER HOW REAL YOUR FEAR IS

Afraid of failure? Look into your fear and think about the worst that can happen. How realistic is the chance that this will actually happen? Which arguments do you have for and which arguments do you have? And how bad is it if it actually turns out wrong? Is that worse than not trying at all? In many cases, by answering these questions, you see that it is all a bit less serious than previously thought. That the actual risk is a lot smaller, or worth trying. And what if you really failed? I recently heard a wise statement somewhere:

FAILURE = GROW!

Do you want to grow? Then you will have to fail anyway, otherwise you cannot learn and you cannot further develop yourself! So on to failing as often as possible ;-D.

3. EMBRACE YOUR FEAR, BUT DO NOT (ALWAYS) ACT UPON IT

Stress and thus anxiety can also have a function and tell you that you can not do things better. In the case of ‘real’ fear, it is wise to listen to it. But if your fear constantly prevents you from doing the things you want to do and rationalizing your fear (point 2) does not help enough, then it helps to ’embrace’ your fear.

Accept  that the fear is there (“Hi, there you are again”), but do not let him consider the decision whether or not to do something. That way you ‘neutralize’ a large part of the fear. Try to take small steps outside of your comfort zone, gain success experiences, and you will notice that the fear diminishes and space is created. For new experiences. For development and growth.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST

Challenge yourself! Always wanted to set up a certain project for your work, but didn’t you dare? Do it! Always wanted to speak on stage, but didn’t you dare? Do it! Go for it! Always wanted to paraglide, but didn’t you dare? Do it! Look, in the picture on the right, I (Nelleke) conquered my fear and ran down a mountain as scared as a weasel … With a fantastic experience of freedom as a result. Wow! How wonderful to live!

Conquer yourself, celebrate your victory and your possibilities are endless.
